It beats on my chest from the inside.
I see you and it aches to be close.
I fear rejection. I fear consent.
Words can’t say what I feel.
Know that I will reflect your love.
Know that I ache to give you mine.
I don’t mean to seem cold.
I’m just really afraid…
Of making you feel uncomfortable.
Of being misunderstood.
I wait for you in the awkward space between goodbyes.
My arms ready to spring open for you.
My heart ready to spring open for you.
Love me. And let me know.
This is my open invitation.
Know that I already love you.
I just don’t know how to show it.
