The Thief

The thief is strong, understands the system, and operates outside its bounds. The thief takes what they want. They do not ask for permission. The scrupulous thief only takes from the robot. The robot is programmed to hate the thief. The artisan understands the thief, but hates getting robbed. The artisan may aspire to thievery.

The Artisan

The artisan is strong, understands the system, and operates within its bounds. The artisan creates. The robots are programmed to buy, so they buy. The thief may aspire to artisanship, but is afraid of losing their freedom. The artisan and thief are often friends.

The Beggar

The beggar is weak, understands the system, and must rely on artisans, robots, and thieves. The beggar was once a thief or an artisan, but is too weak for either now. The artisan and thief feel empathy for the beggar, the robots programmed to feel pity.

The Robot

The robot is weak, unaware of the system, and operates based on their programming. The robot has many robot friends, which makes the robot the strongest. The robot both creates and is created by the system. The robot will never know freedom. The thief, artisan, and beggar cry for the robot.
