Alfrid Larsson was born April 1, 1870, in London, Slimminge Parish, Sweden to Lars Andersson and Elna Jöransdotter. Alfrid was christened at the Lutheran church in Slimminge on April 10, 1870.

Alfrid joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on September 7, 1883.

Alfrid left Slimminge on November 14, 1890, to emigrate to the United States with his mother and younger sister. With the exception of his older sister and father (who both remained in Sweden for the rest of their lives), the immediate family’s other members had already emigrated to the United States.

Upon his arrival to the United States, Alfrid went by the name Albert Larson on legal records. However, it appears he was also known as Alfred among family.

On February 16, 1903, Albert married Anna or Annie Miller in Salt Lake City. She was born in 1884, in Denmark.
