Pro-wrestling championship coming to Qatar next month
Celebrity wrestlers from across the world will gather in Doha next month for the QPW SuperSlam Championship.
The event will be held on April 28 at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena, with doors opening at 6pm and the show starting at 8pm.
For the first time in the Middle East, retired American pro wrestler Sting will make an appearance at the championship, organizers said.
So far, other confirmed wrestlers include Johnny Moss, Booker T, Caprice Coleman and Ali Farhat.
Speaking to Doha News, QPW Co-Founder Bilal Taha said:
“This event is not just for Qatar, it’s for the whole GCC and Middle East. The uniqueness is the combination of Arab wrestlers, including even Qatari ones, and Americans, British, Germans, Austrian and Japanese wrestlers.”
Tickets for the event are now on sale. They cost QR50, QR150, QR350 and QR500 (VIP) per person and can be bought online.
Pro-wrestling appears to be popular in Qatar among many young people, with thousands flocking to previous QPW events in recent years.
The organization has previously held wrestling events in Qatar at Souq Waqif, Hyatt Plaza’s Circus Tent and the Aqua Park.
