Doing reveals the value

Most of us look for inspiration for us to act. The answer to achieving greatness in life & work may however lie in ‘doing’.

Most of us do not have grand ideas about the purpose of our life.

Most of us do not have a grand vision for our businesses or our careers.

Most of us don’t know what to make of our lives or what outcomes are we working towards.

And so we keep looking for external sources of direction and inspiration for us to get to some place of meaning and even greatness.

But are grand vision statements or inspirations necessary for greatness at business or life?

In the doing lies the magic

Counter-intuitively, according to Yogic wisdom — and this applies to all other walks of life as well — all greatness emerges out of “doing the Work”, as Sri Guru Rohit Arya says in this video.

“Do something long enough and the magic emerges”

~ Sri Guru Rohit Arya

You may be brilliant at art or music or writing but without the going through the daily grunt work of sitting down and painting or playing the instrument or writing — the daily practice of it all — there is never anything of meaning that will be achieved.

And yet, most of us seek a pill, a quick fix solution — of inspiration, motivation or grand sense of purpose — to help us achieve excellent health or achieving success at work or build great companies or having great relationships or even Self-realisation (Yogic union with the Divine).

But all of this is achieved by ONLY and only, grunt hours of doing ‘work’ with or without, mostly without, any grand idea of where we want to reach.

Doing!
