The leadership team at DoinGud has a long-term vision for a future where collectors and the wider community can choose the blockchain that they want to store their NFTs on. This will also make the platform infrastructure future-proof as we progress through an ever-expanding constellation of blockchains and scalability solutions.

Why So Complicated?

Usually when people buy art, a collectible or anything with sentimental and/or monetary value, they know where they are going to put it (ie: hanging on their living room wall).

In the digital world, it is not going to be any different as people will be storing their assets on the blockchain of their choice, but currently, the choice is not so simple. The industry is moving so quickly, and there are so many options, that people are basically making bets that whatever choice they make will still be around in 2 years.

“With multi-chain and cross-chain on our roadmap, we’re building a flexible and future-proof infrastructure for our community” — Igor Line, Co-founder at DoinGud

First, Launch on Polygon.

Polygon is a Proof-Of-Stake scalability solution that gained incredible traction with over 500 projects running on it as of July 2021.

It’s also EVM (ethereum virtual machine) compatible, so we get all the benefits of the Ethereum ecosystem including support for multiple wallets, dev tools and open-source web apps that can easily be tweaked to add support for Polygon.

The compatibility between Polygon and EVM chains will enable us to integrate possibly with xDAI, Optimism, Arbitrum and any other EVM shard or L2 solution.

As a Layer 2 solution, Polygon also benefits from fast transactions, low fees, and more efficient energy usage (PoS). This means that DoinGud NFTs can be created and collected at extremely low costs.

Second, Multi-chain Support.

Since December 2020, the whole industry has accelerated its transition to a multi-chain paradigm with many bluechip projects now supporting several networks (i.e. Aave is now on Ethereum and Polygon).

In this vein, DoinGud plans to give freedom to users by supporting the creation of a more robust system where many blockchains power the internet of tomorrow. Polygon itself plans to support multiple scalability solutions, such as zkrollups and optimistic rollups, meaning that support these solutions will be built-into our product from the start. The DoinGud tech team is also researching other possible blockchains to support.

And Finally. Cross-Chain Interoperability

As the number of blockchains grows, the NFT ecosystem may become more fractionalized. This means that the need for cross-chain interoperability, wherein users can effortlessly swap their assets across different blockchains, will be more important than ever. There are many challenges on the path toward successful cross-chain interoperability, such as ensuring that the royalty structure remains fully intact. But we do have a couple of ideas on how to fix that. 😉
