We renovated our house in Pondicherry and so we went there to stay there for a weekend with our family. I and my husband went by train from Chennai where my mother-in-law, father-in-law, and brother-in-law were waiting at the Pondicherry Railway station. We went home, cleaned, refreshed, made noodles, had and relaxed. We went to the famous Manakula Vinayakar Temple in the evening. It looked so beautiful inside with paintings of Vinayaga on the walls. We spent time there and as we were about tp leave, we saw an elephant outside trained to bless people and get money from them. As I love elephants, I went and got blessings from its huge trunk.

As we were hungry, we went to a restaurant nearby and had pav bhaji. Then went to the famous Pondicherry beach, walked there for a while, took some photos, sat there in the sea breeze and relaxed.

It became crowded as time passed. Then we went to a park at its closing time and had to go out in less than 5 mins.

The next day we planned to stay at home taking rest after exploring an abandoned children’s park nearby. As we get fresh fish at Pondicherry, we wanted to make fish curry at home and went to a beach nearby called ‘The Veerampattinam Beach’ where the fishermen usually go to the sea early in the morning and return to the shore by around 9 AM. We went a bit early and as we waited for them to return, we walked around the beach and played with the waves. After they came to the shore, we bought fishes and gave them to a granny who was sitting by the beach side for cleaning them. We waited for her to finish and started from the beach. It was a new experience for me to see the fishes being sold in the boats other than in the market.

We bought all the ingredients required and made a tasty fish curry and fish fry. After a wonderful lunch, we enjoyed an afternoon nap. We then cleaned the house, packed our things and prepared to leave Pondicherry. There are so many other important places in Pondicherry which we may be visiting on our next trip.
