How To: Verify Domains on DomaHub
A step-by-step guide
In this article we will teach you how to verify your domains on DomaHub. You must verify your domains in order for us to confirm that you are indeed the owner of these domains.
Step One: Locate Unverified Domains
First, navigate to your My Listings page.
In your listings table, you will see a list of all of your domains. The domains written in red font are unverified. There is also a red exclamation icon marking these domains.
Alternatively, you can click on the drop-down selector and select “Unverified” to select all unverified domains.
Once selected, click on the “Verify Ownership” button to be taken to the verification page.
Step Two: Examine Domain Records
Once the page has finished loading, it will tell you all the DNS records you need to modify to verify the selected domains.
Follow the table instructions to make the necessary DNS changes for all of your domains.
If you are unsure of who your domain registrar is you can use this tool to do a WHOIS query and find out.
Step Three: Set Records With Your Registrar
Log into your domain registrar and navigate to your domain’s DNS settings.
You must now create the appropriate records as demonstrated in Step Two of this guide. This will almost always be a simple A Record pointed at the DomaHub servers, however, please double check using the table in your My Listings page.
If you do not know how to create a DNS record, please refer to any documentation from your domain registrar on how to create DNS records. A Google search on “How to create DNS records + [REGISTRAR NAME]” should direct you to the appropriate documentation.
NOTE: You must change your nameservers back to the registrar defaults for the registrar DNS changes to take effect!
Below are some of the more popular registrars and their respective documentation:
- GoDaddy — Add an A Record
- NameSilo — DNS Manager
- NameCheap — How can I set up an A Record for my domain?
- Bluehost — DNS Management
- Hover — Edit DNS records
- Google Domains — Adding Resource Records
NOTE: You must delete any and all existing A Records or CNAME Records that may not be on the DomaHub table of DNS settings.
Step Four: Confirm Verification on DomaHub
Go back to your My Listings page and click the button to “Refresh DNS Tables.” We will fetch the DNS settings again. If the DNS settings have been changed properly, you will be presented with green button to verify the domain name.
NOTE: It can take up to 72 hours for DNS changes to take effect so your domain name may fail to verify immediately. Please try again later and if it still fails, feel free to contact us for assistance.
Once successfully verified, you are now free to edit the settings on the DomaHub listing to whatever you choose!
If you are unsure of any step through this entire process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
