More than two thousand people welcomed with chants the presidents of Venezuela and Cuba, following a meeting with friends from the Afro American community with the island, at the historic Riverside Church, in New York, United States.

While addressing the meeting, president Maduro reiterated that Venezuela has been victim of a gross imperialist aggression “but today I can say it, the Bolivarian Revolution of Venezuela is well alive and victorious”.

Maduro further asserted that he wanted to visit the cathedral to have a meeting with the people of Cuba and to share with President Díaz-Canel.

“Today afternoon, we landed in New York, I decided to come at the last time yesterday. I was desirous to come for two reasons: first, to bring the truth of the people of Venezuela to the United Nations, and, in second place, I wanted to come again to this historic cathedral in Harlem and have this meeting with you to ratify our love, compromise and to share with our brother president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel and the people of Cuba”, expressed the Venezuelan leader.

The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, visited the Riverside Church in 2000. A billboard reads “Welcome president Miguel Díaz-Canel, Yes to Cuba, down Blockade!

“Chavez lives, the fight continues” chants were Heard also at the building as an example of solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution.
