Today’s verse: Psalm 43:3

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

Every journey has its highs and lows. Marriage is one such journey. Some days are filled with excitement, happiness, fondness and contentment.

At other times hopelessness takes over. It seems as though you have no reason to keep going. It is in these times that you need to keep pushing, to keep going and to press on.

David was having one of those down days. The struggles of life overwhelmed him and he became disheartened. He reasoned with himself and asked, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me”? (Psalms 43:5)

Even when he was feeling down David kept going. He knew that his down days will soon be replaced by a season of praise and rejoicing. He declared, “hope in God: for I shall yet praise him”. (Psalms 43:5)

Place your hope in God. Your down days will not last forever. Soon they will be replaced by a season of joy. Don’t focus too much on where you are during your down days. Focus on the new season that is ahead and like David, praise God knowing better days are coming.

As you shift your focus on the new season ahead you may want to know how to get there. David asked for God’s leading as he kept going.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

His light and truth will guide you as you keep going. You may be unsure of the process or you may wonder if you are heading in the right direction. You may be doubtful about the process but there is one thing you can be sure about. God.

God is all powerful and all knowing. He knows the start and end of your journey. He knows where you were, where you are and where He plans to take you. All you need to do is to keep hoping and keep going.

Don’t give up. Don’t be overwhelmed by the struggles you face now. If you stop you’ll get stuck in a situation you don’t like.

Focus on the new season that is ahead of you. His light and His truth will lead the way. Keep hoping and keep going.
