Today’s verse: Psalm 29:4

The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

Modern devices are used for a number of tasks. They save time and energy but to keep them functional their batteries need to be charged at all times.

This means provisions have to be made to prevent the battery from totally depleting during the day.

Wives may be compared to: cell phones, tablets and other devices used to make life easier and save time. This is because wives play various roles in different aspects of life.

A cell phone is not just used to make and receive calls. Online banking, online learning, researching, conducting worship sessions and hosting meetings may all be conveniently done with a cell phone.

The same is true with a wife. She is not just a woman married to a man. Daughter, sibling, parent, employee, entrepreneur, volunteer and a dedicated ministry member may all be additional roles that a wife has to fulfil.

Fulfilling these roles may take a toll on any woman and that is why it is very important to recharge.

Using a car charger, travelling with: a battery pack, a solar charger and a power cord are just a few ways to ensure that phones and other devices remain functional during the day. To recharge these devices a power supply is needed.

For wives to recharge a power supply is also needed. Psalms 29:4 states that, “The voice of the LORD is powerful” but how do you plug into this power source?

  • Make the Bible and other religious books your car charger through regular study.
  • Make the hymns/songs, Bible verses, your blessings and the testimonies of others your ‘battery pack’.
  • Feel free to consider small and large group worship sessions, podcasts and other religious broadcasts from various media your ‘solar charger’.
  • Your ‘power cord' will be prayer, meditation and personal time spent with God.

As a wife you may become overwhelmed by the different roles you play. You may feel worn by all the things you have to commit to. It may feel like you are running on an empty battery but there is hope.

“The LORD will give strength unto his people…” Psalms 29:11

This verse gives the assurance that God is still in the business of empowering godly wives. Plug into His never ending power supply and recharge.
