Daily Post #474 Don’t go alone
Ok so you’ve probably heard this one before, but I can’t stress how important it is to get a co-founder, build a team, get a mentor, ask for help.
You might be surprised to see how helpful people actually are if you only stop and honestly ask them for help.
One small disclaimer though — there is a big difference between humbly asking for help and expecting to get it. One lesson I learned when I was working in Silicon Valley was just that, you can get all the help you need, as long as you don’t project entitlement to the help you are asking for, that usually closes the door faster than you can say “sorry”.
In today’s startup ecosystem there are so many sources for finding good people and getting help, from joining the #founderssunday group on LinkedIn (almost 1000 founders in that group now) to finding an incubator or accelerator in your area, and with the sheer number of them out there, help is literally around the corner.
And don’t forget online programs, virtual accelerators and of course mentors.
Ask for help, and you shall be helped.
