A little bit about us: Don’t Be Strangers is a community of optimistic and open-minded students of life that believes that there is something to be learned from everyone. Our shared interest in personal development allows us to create deeper conversations, more vulnerable connections, and real friends to fight adult loneliness and the myth that “making friends is hard!”
What We’re Looking For.
We are currently only accepting submissions for our Medium publication. There are no requirements for mediums, all writers new and experienced, are welcome. We simply ask that before you apply, you understand that
- Don’t Be Strangers is looking for long-term writers (minimum 6-month commitment) who can eventually become permanent members of our team. We ask that all of our writers contribute at least 1 story per month to maintain an active status.
- Articles submitted to the publication should be focused on connection to oneself and/or to others. Related topics can include; Creativity & self-expression, self-improvement, Friendships & Relationships, Community, and Co-working. Your article should draw from personal experience and be based on your passions.
Writing Guidelines
We ask that you keep your articles short and simple. All submitted articles should be under the 10-minute reading mark — which you can easily see at the top of your Medium article.
As for editing, we expect all of our writers to proofread their work before submitting it to the publication. After submission, our editors will likely do some minor editing before publishing, however we do expect a majority of the editing to be done by the writer before submitting.
