First Level: Pancake Islands.
Meka’s Quest starts in a dream level filled with pancakes and coffee. You jump from pancake stack to pancake stack while avoiding enemies, pits and completing the jumping puzzles.

Attacks
Some enemies will be invulnerable to one of these attacks. In order to defeat those enemies these two attacks will need to be combined.
The Stomp can be upgraded by acquiring new boots and the purse is upgraded by acquiring more Quest items and upgrades. The more you put in the purse, the heavier and more damaging it becomes.
Enemies
I’m still working on what they are specifically. But I have a few ideas:
This is my baseline of enemies that I can reuse over and over again with minor modifications.
First Boss: Bratulence

Bratulence is a nickname I have for my cat, Oryx. Usually I call her bratulence when she’s up to no good like eating plants in the middle of the night, getting in the way, and playing with things on the kitchen counter after we have gone to sleep.
Bratulence has three main attacks.
- Scratch: This is a classic “quick dodge” attack, where a claw appears and you have a moment to dodge.
- Pounce: This attack falls from the top of the screen to the bottom and you have to move out of the way.
- Hypersonic Meow: Shoots a highspeed fireball at you.

The AI for the boss is pretty simple. It follows an attack pattern based on thresholds of how much health the boss has left. The attacks get faster and more fierce as it’s health level drops.
Specifics
The player has a moment of warning for when the claw arrives and when the scratch begins, allowing them to dodge. Player injury is detected by colliding with the scratch marks.
As Bratulence’ health diminishes, the animation will speed up and more claw attacks will happen successively.
When the attack starts it will center locate to the players position then drop until it hits the first piece of ground. If the player comes into contact with any part of the attack, it will deal them full damage.
The height of the drop decreases as the boss battle proceeds.
The face will pause for a moment and fire a few shots at the player that the will need to dodge. Each shot that hits the player will cause minor damage and stun them for a moment, opening up room for another attack.
As Bratulence’s health gets closer to zero she will fire faster and more accurate shots.
Defeating Bratulence
Bratulence can be defeated by purse swipes and head stomps. After each successful attack Bratulence will disappear, reappear, and preform a quick counter Scratch Attack.
