Calm started as a meditation app. Even if you are not interested in meditation, you may still want to use it. Calm has grown to offer much more than initially intended. It features music for relaxing or focusing, physical exercises, and stories and sounds to help you fall asleep.

A meditation app may seem a bit ironic. Isn’t meditation about avoiding distractions? Our electronic gadgets are the primary sources of distraction nowadays. It seems counterproductive.

Instead of waging war against the attention thieves, the authors of Calm adopted a different strategy. Why not use the distractors as the power for good?
