This week, DoorDash threw a Friendsgiving dinner, hosted by two-time Top Chef finalist, cook book author, and DoorDash Merchant, Sam Talbot at the Bluxome Street Winery at Ghirardelli Square. The goal of the evening was to showcase how to host an easy and delicious Friendsgiving dinner at home, without ever stepping foot in the kitchen.

Sam curated a menu with iconic dishes from some of his favorite San Francisco restaurants, like Kitchen Story, Lemonade, Little Star Pizza, Blue Plate, 4505 Burgers & BBQ and Mission Chinese, and had the meal delivered in with DoorDash to give his guests the compete experience.

Sam also shared a few tips and tricks on how to take you DoorDashed dinner to the next level:

  1. Keep your plates pearly white. Having clean, white dish-ware will make your take-out pop.
  2. Citrus centric. It’s amazing how far some lemon zest will get you. Sam told us that every single dish in his famed Williamsburg restaurant, Pretty Southern contains lemon; from biscuits to pancakes to grits. A dash of lemon can transform even the lamest salad or the most delicious Poké.
  3. Garnish with a little green. Arugula, herbs and radishes are your take out meal’s best friends. Having a few of these handy to add a little love to the plate will go a long way. Adds a touch of home flavor.
  4. Easy pies-y. No holiday exists without them. But add some whipped cream and fresh berries, and you just saved yourself two hours and a burnt crust.

Check out our video above for even more tips from Sam, and a behind the scenes look at the evening. Thank you to all who joined and celebrated with us! See you next year.
