Elements Vs Coins
I always like making the analogy of how similar the Periodic table and the Crypto Ecosystem are. We are still in the early days of the crypto space, and we have a few Coins which are essential for the ecosystem to sustain itself and evolve.
So, you may wonder, why do I compare it to the periodic table? Let’s jump into it.
On our planet life is possible due mainly to these 5 Bulk Elements: Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Sulfur. If one of them didn’t exist, neither would life.
Of course Bitcoin is the Oxygen of crypto, we need it, but Ethereum as Hydrogen would be the most important to keep things running, as soon as the scalability issues are solved, Ethereum will be able to provide life and interactions between everyone. H2O!
Still, others are needed in my opinion, like Monero, Dash, Iota, Omise Go, speaking about privacy, IoT and easy payments.
Please don’t ask about Litecoin and Ripple..
Macro-minerals are the next layer of the chain, they are key for staying alive since they bring nutrients to the body and we need them in order to function properly. Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Chlorine and Phosphorous would be the core protocols for every Decentralized Application to not just simply be operable, but to facilitate the interactions between them.
These fat protocols will be the core infrastructure for dApps to communicate with each other, and will be a must for every project. My guess? 0x, Filecoin, Aragon, Quantstamp, Origin, Orchid and a few others to come.
There is a certain space for limited valuable goods as well, like gold and silver (Digix + DAI) needed to preserve value, and give the other elements stability and balance.
At the end just one or two main elements and a few protocols will be needed to create a brand new material or in this case a new application, and tons of projects will fail and be forgotten.
So giving a little perspective, Dapps like Dopameme, will start to surge, containing Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Oxygen (C8H11NO2) putting these elements together this fusion of Blockchain + Protocols + Our infrastructure for digital ownership and apply it to our platform to share and earn from your content.
Because, at the end of the day, do we really need Einsteinium??
