Motivation — what is it?

It’s the desire to do something — to achieve a goal, an aim, a dream. The intention to get up off your butt and get something accomplished.

But I know, if you’re like me, sometimes finding the motivation (or helping it stick around) can be difficult, and maybe even feel impossible!

We might know that we want to achieve our (insert dream or goal)…but it can often seem so hard and it’s a lot easier just to…not.

Right?

I can 100% relate.

If you’re procrastinating on achieving what you want to do to kick your life into higher gear and stay (or start) being motivated to move forward with your life goals and plans, here’s 8 things you can do to keep you on the right path.

1. Reflect

Reflect and reassess your goal. Is it still what you’re wanting to do? Maybe you need to tweak it a bit, and that might give you the little kick up the bum if you refresh your goal — it’ll put some more pep in your step

2. Break it down

As with probably most things in life, an easy way to accomplish things is to start with baby steps or break it down into manageable chunks. Take it in stages and tackle each small chunk on it’s own so you move forward without looking at the big picture at the end that can be overwhelming

3. What’s your why?

Remember you WHY. It’s always good to keep in the back of your mind WHY you are wanting to do XYZ in the first place. That’s a great way to kickstart (or continue) your motivation

4. Find role models

Look to people who inspire you. Whatever your goal or dream is — is there someone you look up to that’s already achieved the same thing? Like a role model? Look to them to keep you inspired and motivated. If they’ve done it, then surely you can too!

5. Reward yourself
