Death

And all the different ways people deal with it. Because everyone has to deal with it at some point, right?

I’m starting from a personal place. Losing my mom back in December 2015 — almost 9 years ago now. Which I think is something many can relate to — losing a parent (or another loved one). Even though everyone’s experience with death is different, the feeling of loss is universal.

When my mom passed, I remember looking down at her body and having this feeling that she was just gone. The essence of who she was was gone. Where did it go? What happened to it? That’s what is such a big mystery. One moment we’re here, the next, we’re not (even if we might be physically).

And I’m not religious, so I don’t have those traditional beliefs about the afterlife to bring…
