A couple of years ago, I joined Substack when it seemed like that was the thing every online ‘content creator’ was dong (and ugh, I hate that term — content creator! It is so vapid and meaningless, like the writing version of an influencer).

So I set up an account. But I didn’t really know what to do there. After all, I was already writing here on Medium. So I posted compilations of my fiction stories for a few weeks, and then…stopped.

I came back to it another year or two later to give it another try. This time around I started sharing my monthly Medium newsletters on Substack, which just linked back to my Medium articles. Again I did it for two, maybe three months — so two or three times. And then once again, my interest in Substack waned and I stopped again.

Until I decided to try for a third time. And I actually had a purpose for Substack this time. Do a podcast!

For the past couple weeks I’ve been using Substack with more purpose, more intention.

And do you know what? I really like it! Like really like it.
