We all have something valuable, something important to share with the world.

We all have pieces of ourselves we want to share with others.

Parts of our stories.

We all have the deep seated need to connect with others (yes, even us introverts, like myself!). That’s what we are doing here on Medium, after all!

We need to share our stories in order to teach, to advise, to pass on lessons learned.

We want to share parts of ourselves so they don’t just stay trapped within, never to be released. Or if we don’t want to share, we really should, even if we’re afraid of doing so. That’s the only way others can hope to understand us — if we share these pieces of ourselves, the fragments, the patchwork of stories and memories and experiences that make up our lives.

But it can be hard to open ourselves up, to share our shadow parts, to share our challenges, our trials, our tribulations. But it’s in sharing these difficult parts of us, that’s how we get stronger. That’s how people really get to know who we are. The type of person we are. What we’re made of. What we’re capable of. And sharing these parts of us, reminds us too of everything that we are capable of. Sometimes we forget. Maybe often…
