Plus-Size Gals Will Feel Sexy AF With Club Yandy’s Lingerie Subscription Service
I dared to try a mesh bodysuit, and I loved it.
As a plus-size woman, I’ve been told for years that my body is not desirable, so embracing my sexy side has been an important part of my self-love journey. Wearing lingerie is something I did for myself and I’m so glad I did, but finding it in my size wasn’t always easy. Stores like Victoria’s Secret weren’t an option for me, so when I discovered Yandy.com, I finally felt like I had choices beyond just shapewear briefs.
With more than 40,000 products in stock, Yandy.com is one of the largest e-retailers for lingerie. They carry reasonably-priced pieces in both straight and plus sizes, with product offerings extending through size 6X.
I never even thought a site like Yandy could exist for someone my size, so when I found out they also offer a monthly lingerie subscription service, I was intrigued. Although I was skeptical of letting someone else pick out such an intimate piece of apparel, I could see the value in getting a little something sexy in my mailbox every month.
There are three Club Yandy membership options based on length of commitment: one, three and six months, which you can cancel at any time. The cost of each membership level includes shipping and free returns. Unlike other subscription services I’ve tried, you receive only one piece per month and the items are picked at random. You get to choose the day of the month you want your lingerie to arrive, which is also the day your card is charged.
There’s also a dedicated customer service number to call for concerns specifically related to Club Yandy, which, as a person who loathes hold music, I see as a big benefit.
All pieces are valued at $24.95 (which means you save $9 using the subscription service). The selection of pieces includes teddies, babydolls, chemise sets and bustiers. Although Yandy carries up to a 6X, the Club Yandy selection only includes 1X/2X and 3X/4X.
Overall, I was pleased with the items I received from Club Yandy. I typically gravitate towards bra and panty sets, rather than teddies or chemises, so not all of the pieces were items I’d have picked out for myself. All of the pieces I received came with matching panties, but for the purpose of these photos, I tried them on with nude-colored briefs.
The first was the Plus Size Black and Lace Mesh Teddy. I’ve always been intrigued by mesh bodysuits but had been scared to try them out. The fabric was very delicate and I definitely took special care trying it on. I liked the detailing of the straps at the bust and the scalloped lace trim at the bottom. Although this was a piece I maybe wouldn’t have bought on my own, I’m so glad I got to try it from Club Yandy because this is a style I would wear again.
The Cage Top Chemise was up next. With its bright, electric-blue color, caging at the neckline and fishnet fabric, this style was the most in line with my eccentric, bold taste. Looking at it in the packaging, I wasn’t sure how this would fit on a body like mine, but it was a pleasant surprise. It came with adjustable garter straps but not matching thigh-highs. Having an option to add those would’ve been a nice add-on.
Finally, I tried out the Navy Open Cup Lace Babydoll Set. Of the three pieces I received, this one was probably least in line with my usual style, mostly because I don’t really like the color navy. The items don’t come with any instructions or descriptions, so I didn’t realize until I looked back on the site that this was an open-cup style. This totally explains why I felt like I was spilling out of this. While this wasn’t necessarily my style, I’m glad I tried it out.
There’s an element of surprise that I really liked about this subscription service, but if you are more of a lingerie control freak, the fact that you don’t get to pick your styles may be a dealbreaker. As someone who has spent hours on Yandy.com trying to decide what pieces to try out, only to give up and get nothing, Club Yandy really helped me step out of my lingerie comfort zone and just try new things. And there’s something I like about having a lingerie set that I didn’t pick out for myself arrive at my doorstep. Whether you’re single or attached, lingerie can be an important reminder that you’re special and you don’t need anyone else’s permission to feel sexy at any size.
