Annie Legge — Industry Fellow for the South West Creative Network

We’re delighted to announce that DOT PROJECT co-founder Annie Legge has been selected as an Industry Fellow for the South West Creative Technology Network (SWCTN) data fellowship. This is a pivotal opportunity for Annie, and her work with DOT PROJECT, as she joins a unique cohort of fellows from academia, industry as well as new talent (see the full list of fellows here) to explore the use of data to influence our choices, opinions and behaviours.

Annie’s interests in art, technology and the social sector converge in her work with DOT PROJECT. Over the past year she has been working closely with the Tech Talent Charter, the Corsham Institute and the West of England Combined Authority to make sense of the training and skills building opportunities in the West of England. In particular this work has focused on creating a more inclusive pathway for women to access opportunities in the creative sector, including digital and technology opportunities.

Making sense of data so it feels accessible and inclusive

Annie will be using the data fellowship with the South West Creative Technology Network to work with fellows to explore effective and inclusive community sense-making through system mapping. This speaks to one of her core passions, strengthening connections and relationships between people. The fellowship provides an environment to use data to create closer human connection. What’s more the fellowship brings together people with deep expertise who will apply their knowledge and skills collectively through the explorative environment the South West Creative Technology Network provides.

We’ll be sharing updates throughout the fellowship, for now from Annie:

“I’m thrilled to be part of such a diverse and experience cohort of data fellows. Sometimes data can feel abstract and inaccessible. I see huge potential to collaborate through the South West Creative Technology Network to understand the strength and value of human connection bringing data alive, exploring inclusivity and using our findings to strengthen our society”
