Our responsibility in these times of change
Annie and I founded DOT PROJECT to enable organisations to make sense of themselves. We coach organisations to explore how they can harness their unique organisational fabric, their morale, their capabilities and strengths to harness the potential technology provides in order to thrive in a world that is constantly changing.
For us success is an organisation who feels confident in their own capabilities, and understands where they need to bring in additional expertise. Our focus lies in co-creating resilient organisations with a strong core, who can be responsive to the people and communities they serve in the face of adversity.
Annie and I feel now more than ever we have a responsibility to intensify our support to organisations responding to the social and community impact of COVID-19. We, and those who work alongside us, are in a position to work with civil society organisations digital competence, leadership skills and technology experience to support civil society organisations who are supporting people, particularly those who are vulnerable, isolated and under-represented.
We are committed to diverting all the resources and capacity we have available to support organisations at this time. We are a small team so the right thing for us to do is apply our natural skill-sets to add value. Here is how we are currently prioritising our efforts across the team:
- Working as a Catalyst collaborator to shape how a collective can develop and play an active coordination role to connect digital support partners to charities. Here is an overview of Catalyst objectives.
- Working with the The National Lottery Community Fund to assess the needs of the The Digital Fund grantees and, where necessary, reshape the support we provide through The Digital Fund Support Team.
- Reflecting on our experience of working in emergency response scenarios to provide insight to Catalyst and the wider sector on how we can learn from humanitarian response mechanisms in our response to the COVID-19 situation. Here are some initial insights on humanitarian response structures and use of data.
We are in unprecedented times and it is important to truly collaborate and work collectively. We are focusing right now on how we can add value, one day at a time and we will share our shifting journey as we go.
