Long time no see, we are comparing data with LCQ to check for meta change.

Overview

Games: 183
Total Heroes: 123
Picked: 115
Banned: 115
Untouched: 8

I believe we have the highest number of bans ever
Due to much more games, TI 11 Group stage has a more diverse hero pool, it can be seen in the shift of peak from 30% to 20%. it might be one of the most diversified meta.

Most Contested Heroes

Marci is the monster, even after multiple nerfs, she is still the most contested hero, best on pos 4 with a strong ganking ability and stun lock potential at the late game with Skull Basher and BKB.

Enigma is also a favorite because pushing or even RAT is very important in this meta, he is also a game changer with Blackhole, especially in longer games, he will have more items to work with, we saw lots of 60+ minute games in the group stage.

Primal Beast is strong after being added to the captain’s mode, his strong ability to gank and CC secures early-mid game and team fights. Interestingly, his position has changed from 2 to 3/4 in the group stage, it is due to his scaling is not that great compares with other mids.

Shadow Fiend is back after many years of buffs, he is one of the most snowballing heroes and tower destroyers.

After the buff on Decay, Undying has become the early-game suppressor everyone wants.

Most Picked Heroes

The top 5 picked heroes are not OP, most of them have around a 50% win rate. Pushers like Shadow Fiend, Leshrac and Enigma have slightly higher win rates. but the best is Crystal Maiden, her spells are always powerful in the early game, but they use lots of mana, and the buffs to Arcane Aura finally solved it.

Most Banned Heroes

Batrider’s win rate definitely does not match his ban rate, but teams really hate him and usually ban him in the 2nd phase.

Beastmaster is great for scouting and pushing and is also a great counter to Enigma.

Broodmother is another pusher option, but not every team can play it.

Highest Win Rate Heroes (pick ≥ 5 )

The most surprising build I saw from Gyrocopter is that played by Team Spirit, he went for a pure farm build, only getting attributes and Flak Cannon, and became an unkillable monster in 30 minutes, it is proven by his highest K+A/D ratio. You can check how crazy his 21k Tower Damage is, whereas Shadow Fiend is only doing 9k.

Lifestealer is a pure last pick to counter tanky strength heroes, especially with the buffs on Feast. Of course, he is also a great siege machine.

Naga Siren is another pusher in the pool, and the long-gone illusion strategy works again.

Lowest Win Rate Heroes (pick ≥ 5 )

Queen of Pain has a very embarrassing 0% win rate, after all the nerfs, this is just not her patch, especially the change to Aghanim’s Scepter.

Several teams have been running the Drow strategy, but they seem too squishy.

Highest Pick Rate Increase

Crystal Maiden, Brewmaster, Hoodwink and Dawnbreaker went from almost no pick to 10% picks, and they have a decent win rate, it shows the meta shifts.

Highest Pick Rate Decrease

It is interesting how weak Earthshaker is in the group stage, and there are lots of summoning heroes in the meta. And the 1.77 K+A/D is super low, which means he got killed a lot, it should be related to how much scouting is done by teams in this meta.

Peak Hero Performance

The max health% damage from Poison Nova has brought Venomancer to the Damage/Gold list.

Witch Doctor did great damage but is still too squishy.

Quite surprised by how much healing is done by Dawnbreaker.

Faction

Due to a few highly contested heroes, the first pick is clearly advantageous. The Dire side is also better because the Outpost location helps Rosh fight tremendously (TP target).

Thanks for reading, see you next time after TI.
