Should India change their line-up for the final test match tomorrow? The most trending and common answer after the series defeat is definitely yes. So let see why there is a dire need of change, who should be dropped and who should get a chance.

In the last couple of overseas tours, Indian opening group failed miserably. There is hardly any half or full century partnerships in the current series. It is not about the condition or good quality bowling, it is about the determination and fighting. We saw some glimpses but nothing concrete. So I think the opening partnership will remain the same. If there is a probability of change, then it should be Shikhar Dhawan. He failed to perform in last couple of overseas tours. So team management must bring a new face to partner KL Rahul, and this rookie can be Prithvi Shaw. With a rookie Prithvi in the opposite end, KL Rahul can take more responsibilities as a senior player. So he can do less mistakes, especially unnecessary playing shots outside off where he got out several times.

Middle order will remain the same. Virat Kohli is Stand-out in all the series. Pujara and Rahane finally picked up the gear, but late. So the middle will remain unchanged.

All-rounder position should be up for grabs. As of the inconsistent performances of Hardik Pandya creates a question that should India go for an extra batsman or not. Well, in my view he should be dropped and either Karun Nair or Ravindra Jadeja should be slated in.

Wicket-keeper position is now settled as Wriddhiman Saha out injured. Rishabh Pant should play his natural game rather than playing pressure game. He is talented and the future of the team. So if he wants to cement his place he needs to step up and play freely.

Bowlers section performed really well in the series. It is the Batsmen group which failed time after time.

So my final probable squad is,

  1. KL Rahul
  2. Prthivi Shaw
  3. Cheteshwar Pujara
  4. Virat Kohli
  5. Ajinkya Rahane
  6. Karun Nair/Ravendra Jadeja
  7. Ravi Ashwin
  8. Rishabh Pant
  9. Md. Shami
  10. Ishant Sharma
  11. Jasprit Bumrah
