Incredible, Amazing, Brilliant Golf

Dothan is a year-round destination for golfers at all skill levels. One of Golf Digest’s “Places to Play,” Highland Oaks is part of the famous Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. One of three nine-hole championship courses and a nine-hole short course, the Highlands course features a peninsula green. A 1,000- foot long wooden bridge spanning a marsh is a highlight of the Magnolia course. The monster par-five sixth hole on the Marshwood course is more than challenging. Wildcatters looking for oil instead discovered a hot mineral spring on what is now the site of the Dothan National Golf Club, host to several SEC championships. Five lakes in a rolling, picturesque setting are the trademarks of Kilgore’s Roundabout Plantation Golf Course. Golf’s brightest junior stars arrive at the Dothan Country Club every June for the Future Masters golf tournament. Held since 1950, competitors 18 and under have gone on to win many PGA tournaments.
