How I Wriggled out of Depression and Anxiety by Re-building My Emergency Reserve Energy Tank with Vitamin Supplements


I have had depression and anxiety for many, many years. My usual prescription is for Lexapro / Escitalopram. It works to bring me out of the negativity hole of death that is depression. But dampens my passion for life and ability to feel desire and bonding/attachment. And doesn’t really give me an actual physical energy boost. Yuck. Last year I started a new regime that gave me back my energy reserve tank — I started being able to handle things again because I could get burnt out but *still have “energy”* I could draw on the get through the challenge. Life-changing for me.

But it wasn’t the antidepressants that were causing this! And not lifestyle changes either (long story).

I believe the real change happened because I started going to phototherapy 2–3 times a week (for Psoriasis), started taking 10, 000IU Vitamin D, and also: Truehope EMP super supplements, 2000mg of Vit C every day, 1500mg of Niacinamide and 300mg of Magnesium Citrate. Folic Acid and B12 are also supposed to help. And probiotics to keep your digestive system healthy. The vitamin regime was on the advice of my research-competent Mom and an Orthomolecular medicine practitioner. Anyway, it could be just the phototherapy and Vitamin D that did it…but I don’t think so. I think the vitamins play a huge part.

I am currently gradually weening myself of antidepressants and so far so good! I am looking forward to seeing if the dulling of passion/bonding goes away, too.
