The 2022 MIAFW will revolve around sustainability — the pandemic honed-in the need to mitigate the effects of the fashion industry on the environment. And will feature new runways that include the gorgeous Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, the Gary Nader Gallery and Museum, and Frost Science Museum.

Missoni

Missoni is an Italian luxury fashion house based in Varese and known for its colorful knitwear designs. The company was founded by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni in 1953.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada

Her bold and colorful designs have made her one of the most-widely recognized designers, nationally and internationally. She was born in Madrid in 1960. She is the daughter of a famous art collector from Madrid and an aristocrat from Catalonia. Agatha studied at the School of Fashion Arts and Techniques in Barcelona.

Benito Santos

“If Mexico City has a fashion rock star, it’s Benito Santos. His imagination goes from the most romantic wedding dress to the most rebellious look,” Vogue. His style — juxtapositions of complicated prints and colors — is quite exciting.

Angel Sanchez

Angel Sanchez developed an appreciation for fashion at a young age surrounded by dress forms and fabrics in his mother’s Venezuelan atelier. His first love was architecture, which he studied and practiced professionally for a couple years, but he soon found himself drawn back to his mother’s work. Armed with the knowledge of form and structure from his architectural work, Sanchez founded his fashion house in 1987.

Rene by RR

Designer Rene Ruiz strikes a balance between old-world craftsmanship and modern glamour by blending Miami’s sultry sexiness with graceful elegance.

Naeem Khan

Naeem Khan is an Indian-American fashion designer known for his ornate and intricately detailed gowns, and for dressing First Lady Michelle Obama, Queen Noor of Jordan, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

The Nader Art Museum Latin America has one of the most important modern and contemporary collection from Latin America, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. It’s Gary Nader’s vision for a dynamic cultural center in the United States. The NAMLA with 30,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space comprises four exhibition rooms exhibiting works in all media — painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, and video. Located in the Wynwood District.

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, breathtaking Gilded Age estate on Biscayne Bay surrounded by ten acres of formal gardens, a mangrove shoreline and rockland hammock. James Deering built Vizcaya as his winter home between 1914 and 1916, a time when America was emerging as an international economic and cultural force. By adapting European design traditions to a Miami context, Deering showed that America could compete with Europe, not only financially, but also culturally.

The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is a leading science museum dedicated to sharing the power of science, sparking wonder and investigation, and fueling innovation for the future. Located in Downtown Miami’s waterfront Maurice A. Ferré Park, Frost Science is divided into four buildings: the Frost Planetarium, Aquarium, and North and West Wings.

100 Hours

MIAFW decided that in order to ensure the health and safety of all of its community and committed to delivering joyful and fashionable content, they would pivot from an in-person event and created a digital 100 HOURS of NONSTOP streaming content through Univision.
