We support all efforts to fix our ailing Bay, sadly manifested by dead fish. For that we need to look back at the roots of the problem. What Miami history teaches us is that we are responsible. An increased number of buildings without proper infrastructure is a culprit. We hope for a stop to excessive residential and commercial construction and poor zoning decisions, so that our leaders don’t go running around with a box of Band-Aids to cure the serious disease that their own myopia caused. Otherwise, no amount of online posturing will come close to a real cure.
I urge you to read an interesting take on the issue by life-long Miami resident Jorge Sanchez for Downtown News: Fish in the Bay May Be the Latest Victims in an Untold South Florida’s Story.
