Vandalism in Maurice Ferré Park

It can only be described as an act vandalism: Defacing the sculptures exhibited at Maurice Ferré Park. One of the sculptures was painted over with oil paint. The Bayfront Park Management Trust is offering a $25 thousand reward for information leading to those responsible. Security cameras have also been installed.

This latest assault is not isolated, throughout Downtown residents see graffiti stamped on walls, on windows, on sidewalks, everywhere. Perhaps graffiti is not the right word, as graffiti can have an artistic connotation. What these people are doing is vandalism, pure and simple.
