Dogs at work
Working for Dozee comes with an added benefit, you get to work closely with two super friendly and “hooman” loving dogs, Pi & Potato.
They scare some of our visitors (quite unintentionally), be the topic of discussion in almost all team meetings, feature in every 2nd picture clicked in the office, and leave office in a mess during shedding season. But, inspite of all this, they are an inseparable part of our office and culture.
They make sure we follow good habits such as taking regular breaks. They tie the team together around them. Working on innovative and challenging things comes with its share of stress and Pi & Potato help a great deal to alleviate most part of it. It’s scientifically proven too, a study at University of Missouri–Columbia says Petting a dog for just 15 minutes releases the feel-good hormones Serotonin, Prolactin, and Oxytocin, and lowers the stress hormone Cortisol. They also promote team bonding, laughter and a generally convivial atmosphere.
Even Dozee got it’s current form, thanks to our super dog, Pi. Initially Dozee was meant to be kept over the mattress. But, afraid of Pi (who was at his naughtiest that time), Mudit & Gaurav left Dozee under the mattress while stepping out, so that Pi could not shred it. Pi went and slept on the mattress. When Mudit & Gaurav returned, they noticed Pi’s heart beat in the data. This is how Dozee got its under the mattress form. Hi Five Pi!
Perhaps most important of all, in a world that is increasingly dominated by technology, dogs don’t come with screens, cables and chargers. They don’t hang out on social media. Dogs have never heard of algorithms, applications or artificial intelligence. Dogs don’t want to steal your job, although they can make the best collaborators in the true sense of the word. Ultimately, dogs let you be just what you are — human and love you unconditionally! These days, there’s a lot to be said for that.
