Laying out the work on boards is one of the most importing thing to be done to make sure your work reads out well. This tutorial will talk about a few things that need to be kept in mind while doing so. We shall be laying out a 36" X 72" board in Photoshop.

Firstly, all the work that needs to be one a particular board should be pulled together and placed on a sheet to see how they would go together. A layout might consist of images, drawings, views etc. that need to be placed in such a way that they tell the story.

  1. Full Bleeds: Using images that bleed out of the page.

2. Using a few site images and supporting texts help the presentation.

3. Using the Two-Thirds rule helps to drag the focus on the intersection of the boxes.

4. Avoid borders to the images that need to be placed as tiles. If in case orders cannot be avoided; they orders should be thin, light or gray in color.

5. Serif Fonts such as Times New Roman should be avoided and San Serif Fonts such as Arial, Helvatica should be used instead.

6. 50% white space rule should always be followed in order to avoid chaotic sheets of presentation.
