A night render can be produced either by using a Rendering Engine or by editing a day view using Photoshop.

We will take a day time view and then try to edit the image in Photoshop by adjusting the the background and adding a few elements that would make a view seem to be of the night time.

Day time view.
  1. Duplicate the layer and work on the duplicated layer.

2. To accurately select the background to change it to a different one, we need to use the magic wand- selection by color.

3. Make another section using the “Lasso tool” of the profile of the buildings and load the selection as well.

Fill the selection with a bright color to check and see how accurate your selection is before adding a background of the sky to the image.

Using the selection and replacing the existing background with the new one.
Using the Levels and hue adjustments, adjustments should be done as desired and because the windows would glow during this time of the day, a few adjustments should be done on the mask.

After adding a few humans and street lamps, the image will start looking like a night render.
