Simex VSE screening buckets are specially designed for separating materials of different sizes directly on the construction site. With these, separating and screening should be efficient and cost-effective.

Simex VSE screening buckets are available in four models for excavators from 3t to 45t, and are characterized by a quick setting of the throughput directly from the cab. Without leaving the driver’s cab, the sieve size can be infinitely adjusted hydraulically by 40 mm. Thus, thanks to the instant change of the output size, the operator can get three different grit: a fine grit 0–15 mm, a medium 15–55 mm and a coarse grit with more than 55 mm.

Discs of different diameters arranged as rhombuses on the shaft generate a suction when rotating, which should significantly increase the working speed and thus the screen throughput. With VSE spoons, material can be divided into different grain sizes in one go.

Replacing screen units that are subject to varying degrees of wear depending on the material can be an expensive undertaking as the entire screen shafts must be replaced. Simex recently introduced FIT, a new screening tool system for its VSE screening buckets. The system makes it possible to change the individual screen discs without replacing the shaft. Each element consists of five independent parts designed to easily interlock. They are said to score with around 75% lower maintenance costs, since it is possible to replace just a single disc or blade. The system allows for three different configurations depending on the material to be screened, but more are also possible thanks to the fully interchangeable screen elements. The new screening tools are backward compatible with the previous system.

The element consists of five discs and two spacers and is attached to the shaft with clamps and two screws. Simex offers special screen disc types for use with hard material (rock), which are characterized by a long service life thanks to their shape. A version is also available that can also be used to work on damp and slightly sticky soil. The VSE Separator series has already proven itself many times in use, whether in the recovery of demolition material or in sealing pipelines and backfilling trenches.

Three VSE standard variants with FIT

Recycling Configuration: Suitable for screening mixed material such as dry clay, gravel, silt and peat. Profitably used for padding and bedding of pipelines and for separating demolition and construction waste into different sized materials to produce recycled aggregate.

Dispersion Configuration: Ensures high performance on soil, peat, clay and vegetable waste. Is often used for the selection of topsoil in garden and landscaping.

Mixed Configuration: Designed for wet soils mixed with rocks, gravel and clay. According to the manufacturer, particularly effective for volume reduction, easy shredding (even with frozen and lumpy material) and sieving topsoil in garden and landscaping. According to Simex, it is also very effective in the processing of organic waste or in the selection of topsoil that occurs during the recultivation of mixed and rocky soils
