Claim: The virus will die out in the warmer climates

Fact: We simply don’t know — it’s alive now in warm countries eg. Nigeria and Philippines. Oddly, there have been few reported cases in India. No reason to explain, maybe less testing?

Claim: It’s safe to receive a package from RED ZONES

Fact: To date there has been no transmission to human from packages, safe to assume it’s fine. Suggest you do a quick wipe down and/or spray down to keep you feeling safer.

Claim: Pets can transmit Covid-19 to humans

Fact: There was one case of a dog in Hong Kong who tested mildly positive, the owner was infected. Not certain if the dog just got some virus on him vs dog was infected. The dog appears healthy.

Claim: A vaccine will be available in a few months.

Fact: FALSE. They are just starting the process and best-case scenario is end of 2020, early 2021. While we are hopeful that doesn’t mean there will even be an effective vaccine. The SARS virus is a coronavirus. To date, no SARS vaccine under development has been shown to be effective.

Claim: You cannot get re-infected once you have been infected with the Covid-19.

FACT: A growing number of discharged coronavirus patients in China and elsewhere are testing positive again after “recovering,” sometimes weeks after being allowed to leave the hospital, which could make the epidemic harder to eradicate.
