Drawboard PDF, Surface Studio and Surface Dial: the greatest annotation experience yet.
New devices and features to transform the design industry professional’s workspace for good.
Today, Microsoft launched the Surface Studio and along with it the Surface Dial. Drawboard is proud to announce new and creative ways for Drawboard PDF users to annotate and markup with full support for these new devices. Drawboard was featured at the October 26 event with the Surface Studio and Surface Dial, showcasing new features and functionality for its customers.
The Drawboard team has worked closely with the Microsoft Surface team to develop an experience that harnesses the Surface Dial’s game-changing functionality and the Surface Studio’s larger than life experience.
Architects, engineers and construction professionals using the Surface Studio will be able to interact with detailed drawings and diagrams like never before with the pressure-sensitive Surface Pen on the Surface Studio’s large-format screen — turning their desk into a full studio experience.
By placing Surface Dial on the Surface Studio screen, construction and design professionals will be able to transform their creative process with brand new markup features in Drawboard PDF. Draw perfectly ruled lines at exact angles with a calibrated on-screen protractor, accurately perform line and area measurements, and freely rotate the canvas to find the perfect writing position.
“The new Surface Studio and Surface Dial provide a larger and more versatile canvas for people to take advantage of Drawboard PDF,” said John Richards, General Manager of Surface at Microsoft. “Architects, engineers and construction professionals will have amazing access to a full range of inputs — including touch, pen, and the new Surface Dial, that will allow them to be more efficient in how they edit and collaborate on large complex documents.”
There are now greater possibilities working with drawings, floorplans and technical renderings. For those so often working with large-format files, the Surface Studio transforms seamlessly between monitor and drawing table, creating a larger than life annotation experience, and expanding collaboration possibilities when working at a desk. Microsoft pen and ink technology is more impressive than ever with the new Surface Studio.
This is exactly the kind of device that I have been waiting for as an engineer. It’s the perfect screen for viewing large, complex drawings and the experience with the pen is incredible. Alistair Michener, CEO/Founder, Drawboard.
These new Drawboard PDF features will be available in the coming weeks.
