Three cars. For eternity. One brand.

The dream 3 car garage is a question which plagues all us car aficionados. Cars have evolved so fast since Karl-Benz started flexing (his car prowess..whether he flexed his muscles or not is questionable) to his mates and Henry Ford went full Oprah Winfrey with his Model T production. So many different generations, so many different dream cars, it makes it nigh on impossible to pick and choose the only 3 cars you would have in your garage for eternity.

Eternity is the key point here. In a real-life 3 car garage ( if you are rich enough to afford all the costs associated with a car let alone a garage), cars could be swapped around. But let’s conveniently ignore this shall we.

Three car garage you will keep with yourself from eternity. One brand: Aston Martin.

The permutation/ combination of the types of cars you could have in a 3 car garage are too many unless you are a great mathematics student. Therefore, I’m gonna list a few sets of 3 cars from the British manufacturer. No budget at all. It’s a ‘dream garage’ after all.

SET A- The All-Encompassing British Trio

1. Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation

The DB5 is one of the most recognisable Aston Martin Cars ever, made infamous thanks to Sean Connery in Ian Fleming’s suave and sexy secret agent movie, James Bond. But obviously, DB5 was a later edition of the DB4 GT, a car which was meant for racetracks. But this isn’t just a standard DB4 GT, this version is stunning British motoring icon remade for the 21st century (hence the ‘Continuation’) clothed in metal by perhaps the most famous Italian coachbuilder, Zagato.

Look at it! It looks bloody gorgeous. Apart from the Jaguar E-Type, this is the prettiest car in the world. This is what you get for 6 million pounds. A huge amount of money it may be but the best part is that Aston sells this baby as a 2 pack…

2. Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato

And here is the other part of the 2 pack, the Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato. A fancy name for fancy table talk. While the DB4 GT Zagato is a ‘Continuation’ of the 1956 DB4 icon, the DBS GT, is a re-bodied, re-fancied DBS Superleggera, again modified by Italian coachbuilder Zagato. Since the DB4 Continuation isn’t road legal, this could be your ‘ have fun’ car. Daily driver? Coming up…

3. Aston Martin DBX

Ah, an SUV! The scourge of a car fanatic. Say what you will though, as it stands, the 2 other cars in this set can’t carry more than 2 people, and there aren’t many other cars in the Aston’s stable which cater to comfortably seating a modest family while hauling luggage. The only option is then the Aston Martin DBX.

A luxury sports SUV, the DBX represents a very important car for Aston Martin. Its financial woes seem to be biting at the heart of the British builder, and for some reason, there is a massive appetite among buyers today for an SUV. At the end of the day, the DBX needs to sell, for the Aston to continue building, it’s halo cars ( aka Valkyrie’s etc.). It is a necessary evil.

SET B — Pure Zagato Fan

The Aston Martin Vanquish is one of the prettiest modern Aston cars to date. Hell, one could argue that it is one of the prettiest cars to date. But as the manufacturer had to update their stable, it decided to send off the Vanquish in one big hoorah! Once again, they made a call across the English channel to the Italians, and probably after much dramatic talk about English tea and Italian antipasto, the time had come to build a set of 4 Vanquish Zagato editions.

Sadly as we constrained to 3 cars, one of them will have to be axed in this list. But if you have the moolah to throw around, then swap and switch as you like.

1. Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe

The one that started the Vanquish Zagato tie-up. A coupe for your daily days.

2. Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster

Sure, you can have the drop-top Volante, but really, you want the Speedster. One for sunny skies, or South California ( not at the current situation though).

3. Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake

Ah, the shooting brake. A classic take on a very modern aesthetic. One for hauling the groceries. Sadly only seats two, unless your children don’t mind being stuck in a boot. Well, you can always ask your partner to drive one of the other cars from the collection :)

You have to admit though. This perhaps the coolest of the trio of supercars.

SET C — The Modern Supercar Afficionado

This for the Gen Z of Aston Martin fans and perhaps the sickest looking trio of modern automobile collection.

1. DBS Superleggera Volante:

The prettiest modern convertible? I think so. The DBS Superleggera was created as a lightweight tuned up version of the Aston Martin DB11. With an eye-catching design language and a stinking great turbocharged v12 engine produced courtesy of Mercedes-Benz AMG, the Volante (convertible) version was the piece-de-resistance.

Looks stunning in a fiery-orange doesn’t it? Greatest flex mobile.

2. Aston Martin Valkyrie

The newest Aston hypercar, and apart from probably Gordon Murray’s upcoming T50, the finest automobile of this generation is none other than the batshit crazy Valkyrie. Starting the craze of Nordic mythology names in the carmaker’s brand, the Adrian Newey engineered F1 car for the road is such a radical change from supercar/hypercar design that it barely looks road legal.

Look how low it is to the ground! And it has a Formula 1 derived naturally aspirated V12 engine which screams to around 10,000 RPM. It’s like a sleeker, prettier and much more valuable McLaren Senna, and is sure to eviscerate tracks when it’s driven and not kept in some collector’s garage. The last of its kind? Probably

3. Aston Martin Rapide AMR

I’ve always admired the Rapide and its engineers. Looking like an elongated version of a traditional Aston Martin, it had seating for 4, a great engine and decent boot space for a road trip. The AMR version turns this sedan up to the 11’s. With design updates and a more powerful v12 engine, the Rapide AMR is a great car to hoon around with when you are required to carry more than 2 people. Comfortably of course.

In case you were wondering AMR stands for Aston Martin Racing. As can be seen from the go-faster racing stripe running down the length of the car. Engineers and auto enthusiast can whole-heartedly agree that the stripe does add an extra 100 hp.

SET D- The Bond Fan

There isn’t much to say if you’re a Bond fan. You just like him (or maybe his multiple femme fetales..it’s okay, we don’t judge). Some of his movies are great, others a little meh, but no one can deny that Mr 007 and his department has always had a penchant for great cars, none more so iconic than the…

1. Aston Martin DB5

Yup, you guessed it. The DB5 is probably along with Back To The Future’s DeLorean, the most iconic car to grace the silver screen, and the DB5 looked good in silver. Brought to stardom by Sean Connery, and gracing several different Bond films since Goldfinger, the car has always been Mr Bond’s trusty sidekick, at times giving him the literal ‘ License to Kill’.

Source: Bond Lifestyle

The best part? Aston is recreating versions of the DB5 for new customers, complete with a select few Bond gadgets. But then again the DB5 will always be uber-cool wouldn’t it?

2. Aston Martin Valhalla

Another Norse name, another fantastic modern marvel. The Aston Martin Valhalla is the younger sibling to the halo hypercar, the Valkyrie. With turbocharged V6 engine with hybrid assistance producing a 1000 horsepower or thereabouts, you would think this is hypercar status, and it certainly is. The Valkyrie is just in a different league entirely, and at almost half the price the Valhalla seems like a relative bargain. Similar ground sucking body, but a more relaxed atmosphere.

Source: Aston Martin

For Daniel Craig’s Bond, it seems to be the perfect car for a gadget infused speed machine. With the level of the expected performance of the Valkyrie, he will literally have ‘No Time To Die’ eh?

3. Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Another classic? What is wrong with me? Nothing, because the V8 Vantage perhaps best personifies the Bond bad boy image. The DB5 looks elegant, but sometimes you need something brutish for your needs and the V8 Vantage, with its much sharper edges and blockier body, provides just that.

Source: Buzzdrives

Best paired with a leather jacket. But don’t only wear the jacket. Otherwise, you’ll turn from Mr Bond to Mr Creep.

That concludes our deep dive (Lotus Esprit style) into a dream 3 car garage from Aston Martin.
