About a month in now with the Dream VC fellowship to prep myself for the Venture Capital world. So much to share, only cause I care.

In the course of the month that I have been a fellow in the L.I.V.C program offered by Dream VC Team a lot has gone on. Intense can’t be the only term to describe it and rigorous is only for the program itself. Having to juggle work and its occasional travels and internet fluctuations, work deliverables, and group and individual assignment deadlines is the absolute challenge — but we keep moving.

What keeps me going though? The hunger in myself and other cohort fellows to show up and repeatedly embrace the teachings, panels, workshops, and teamwork. The ante has been upped as we go to the 2nd month (read “block” if you’re LIVC comrade) and intensity increases.

So far covered are Investment Vehicles, African VC & Tech Ecosystem, Deal Sourcing, Market Research & Sizing, Investment Thesis, and most recent — VC Scouting. I am greatly amazed and impressed with my colleagues, some being picked up for VC roles already and others who are founders and still soaking up knowledge. Last but not least, the great team in Cindy & Mark our tutors who are patient with learners.

Did I say assignments? I have had them from Group to Individual — but I am not complaining *😅😭* a little sweat and tears, but no blood yet! They have helped me deep dive into certain verticals, understand and uncover the workings of particular industries such as Gig Economy and InsurTech that I have worked on during the time.

Lastly, in case you don’t catch me often outside on Saturdays. I am paying for the dreams now. *cues “Dream by The GAME*
