Let’s rewind back to May 2021 — as an organization we were in our infancy, having just launched our social media accounts with under 100 followers and desperately trying to launch and recruit for a cohort within a span of 2 weeks. To create more traction, we started reaching out to 30+ media individuals, all cold to the inbox. Out of these, less than 10 actually responded, which was understandable given our cold outreach and limited media budget.
One of the first to respond, Charles Rapulu Udoh from AfrikanHeroes, kickstarted our media coverage and the rest is history. He now sits on our advisory board and actively guides our organization.
Although there are a lot of intentional strategies Dream VC does to growth hack and expand, undoubtedly none of this could have been possible without the countless editors and writers who have covered us thus far. Whether it is the contributors who covered us from the beginning with a leap of faith, or the writers who helped us spread the word this year, we would like to dedicate this article to them.
