Meet Hendrik Sippel, a data science enthusiast from Germany, who is on an exciting journey at Dreamcraft. With a passion for both technology and business, Hendrik is taking on the world of data-driven venture capital.

Three quick facts:

German data science enthusiast

Passionate about data-driven decision-making and AI’s investment potential

Built his own camper van, bakes sourdough bread, and serves as Dreamcraft’s barista & DJ

Hendrik grew up in Germany, but his desire for adventure and knowledge made him take a big step into the world to explore what it has to offer. His first stop was Taipei, where he lived for a year, exploring the local culture and language. Living with four different host families, Hendrik picked up Mandarin and discovered the power of human connections.

After his time in Taipei, Hendrik moved to Vienna for two years to support his girlfriend’s pursuit of a master’s degree. While abroad, Hendrik, who had completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Entrepreneurship, realized that pursuing a master’s degree right away was not the right path for him. This realization led him to explore the work world, where he found his passion — data and programming.

Working in consulting at Accenture, Hendrik gained several years of valuable experience in software development, agile transformation, and project management. He worked with companies in industries such as automotive, semiconductor manufacturing, and public health. One of the projects he worked on was predicting the next pandemic. This project opened his eyes to the potential of data analysis and its ability to not only predict the future but make it a better future.

It was his blend of ambition and curiosity that led Hendrik into VC. Joining Dreamcraft was a step into the unknown and an opportunity to explore a new application of his skills — data science and venture capital.

“VC is a whole new industry. It’s super cool to take my experience with data analysis and programming to Dreamcraft as I see it will empower the investment team. First of all building and implementing new solutions to data-driven decision-making and also exploring how data can make all functions and operations at Dreamcraft more efficient”

When Hendrik is not sitting in front of a screen, he is out and about, enjoying one of his many hobbies. You will often find him in a CrossFit box and, recently, he built a camper van together with his girlfriend, which they take on road trips to the majestic landscapes of the Nordics every year.

And if that was not impressive enough, his crafting goes beyond the roads and into the kitchen. Hendrik has mastered the art of baking sourdough bread. In fact, he has become such a pro at it that he has completely stopped buying bread from the store. As a continuous developer, Hendrik’s current project in the kitchen is focused on upping his ramen game at home. At the Dreamcraft HQ, Hendrik has now taken on the role of the DC barista, creating the perfect cup for the #Dreamcrafters. Not only is the team served precious cups of coffee, but also motivating tunes are served as Hendrik is named our residential DJ!

At Dreamcraft, Hendrik is looking forward to working at the intersection of data science and venture capital where he sees many possibilities in harnessing the power of AI and data analysis. He loves working with the team and developing solutions that enable them to make great investments — empowerment through data science — that is the future.

“Witnessing the real-world applications of AI and data science daily in Dreamcraft’s investments is both interesting and inspiring. I’m super excited to contribute to this evolving landscape.”

All in all, Hendrik brings a blend of passion, expertise, and curiosity to the world of data-driven venture capital. Getting served a cappuccino with a side of interesting data is not something every investor can enjoy on a regular Wednesday morning. We are not mad about it!
