Meet the Venture Partner: Victor Folmann — Hands-on Venture Engineer Bringing Operational Experience to New Role at Dreamcraft
Victor Folmann is the next appointed Dreamcraft Venture Partner we are excited to announce. We have known Victor for some years now as one of our portfolio founders. Not only does he have a great network within gaming and esports, but he is also a true hands-on venture engineer from his operational experience at GamerzClass and now at Metafy.
Role as Venture Partner
Victor is the first Dreamcraft Venture Partner coming from the portfolio founder track. We very much enjoy seeing founders progress and Victor is an excellent example of a founder who is always ready to take one step forward.

It is, in particular, Victor's experience, network in the gaming space, and US funding market that made him a great player in the Dreamcraft Venture Partner Network. With him on the team, we aim to further strengthens our position in the space, together.
In addition to his esports and gaming knowledge, we truly value Victor’s hands-on venture engineer mentality and his operational experience, which is what we are looking for when we select the Dreamcraft Venture Partners. Victor’s Background and Experience
Victor started out playing professional soccer in both Denmark and the United Kingdom. However, as time passed, he started spending more time playing video games. As a natural competitor, Victor decided to pursue a career as a professional Counter-Strike player and quickly learned that it wasn’t as easy as he originally had planned. Fast-forwarding a few years, Victor then decided to step into the startup world and joined 8Dio, a music software startup located in San Francisco, building music software tools for all big blockbusters.
After a couple of years in the US, Victor returned to Denmark, with the idea of trying to solve the same challenges he had faced years earlier, failing to become a professional Counter-Strike player. In 2018, GamerzClass was born and was selected to the 500 Global business accelerator in San Fransisco, which is something only three other danish startups have done. At GamerzClass, Victor functioned as the CEO and stepped on several stages, amongst them Web Summit, to present what the gaming platform is all about.
We met Victor and the other founders in 2019. At that time, they barely had a product, but they had a special spark to them that you do not see often. That year, we made the first investment in GamerzClass, and the same year, the first classes were released on the platform.
In short, GamerzClass is a gaming content platform that offers personalized recommendations to viewers while offering creators a share of revenue via premium subscriptions. They have helped more than 500,000 gamers improve at their favorite games, pivoted its content production and business model in the process, and hired 20+ amazing people along the journey.
In 2022, US-based Metafy Inc acquired GamerzClass to expand classes for gamers. Metafy secured $25 million in series A funding from Tiger Global and Seven Seven Six. With that funding, Metafy acquired their once competitor GamerzClass.
Today, Victor is COO at Metafy. Victor leads the finance team, data team, and operations, successfully scaling the company as they are planning to raise their Series B.
It feels great to have kicked off 2023 with announcing the second Dreamcraft Venture Partner Network, and we are excited to see what we can do together with Victor.
