And Other Songs

Your footsteps echoed while we went about collecting your belongings,
Packing for a journey I would not join you on.
The broken window left to remind me of the anger in your eyes,
Words you used to slash my heart as you severed the bond we once had.

Slowly I fell on broken glass, numb from the shock as you pulled you clothes from my drawers.
Another's arms would cradle you tonight as I smoothed out your impression on my bed.

Slumber would not take me as the tears flowed silently from my eyes. Empty drawers longing for you as I filled them with memories I cannot bare to keep.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
