Consider the following data points when The Show 19 Marketplaces opens. The marketplace will be volatile. Know your targeted players’ historical price points and demand peaks.

Ryan McMahon is a player with a pure-swing to keep an eye on. This spring, he has 13 hits in 22 at-bats to a tune of .406, with seven extra-base hits. Per Fangraphs.com scouting report, McMahon’s hit tool ceiling is 45. On a 20/80 scale, we believe this hit tool is underrated. McMahon has hit better than .300 at every level of the minor leagues.

On the MLB The Show Marketplace, McMahon’s current Ask Price is 105. That’s nothing for a player who is making a strong case to start at 1B and hit in the middle of the Rockies lineup. His MLB The Show Player Ratings Bronze Card contact rating is 60, and power around 40.

Last season, McMahon’s card peaked at an Ask Price of 285 without a great amount of production. This tells us his stock price could more than double with any sort of production in ’19. Fangraphs lists his best outcome at .270 this season with 16 home runs. If McMahon starts to show as he has at each step of the minors, his card ratings will rocket up the ranks fast -potentially awarding him Silver Card status.

Keep an eye on McMahon and watch for MLB The Show’s Friday Marketplace updates on weeks when his ratings should increase. This will help you capitalize on a promotion to Silver.
