Nolan Arenado is one of the best players in the game. He is now being paid like it. His new contracts sits at $35M per year, higher than any positional player in the game. His dollar figure per WAR value can be estimated at $6M/WAR per season.

In The Show 18, the Diamond Arenado Card opened the season with an Ask Price of 162,000. Late in the season, his demand spiked his Ask Price to 200k, and concurrently saw his Bid Price rise to 165k. Finishing out this year’s trading, his Diamond Card 91 overall skill rating Ask Price is 149,899; his Bid Price leveled off at 136,025

At Arenado’s peak demand during the ’18 season, his Diamond Dynasty Marketplace cost was 35k(stubbs)/WAR. This figure can be used to compare with other star players at his position. The Manny Machado Diamond Card, 88 overall, costs 9,919/WAR. Anthony Rendon’s Diamond Card 85 overall, peaked at a cost of 594/WAR.

Consider these Diamond Card data points when The Show 19 Marketplaces opens. The marketplace will be volatile. Know Arenado’s historical price points and demand peaks.

Arenado is a player who’s stubb value steadily increased over the course of the season. As the Rockies understand, it is likely he will return increased value over the course of the season with a 2018 peak Bid Price at 165k. Use this figure as a cap number to never surpass while bidding on the star third-baseman in 2019.
