Here are this week’s two waiver-wire recommendations, with player ratings and traits provided by Sony’s flagship baseball game, MLB The Show.

Consistency and presence have been the key attributes I have focused on this season. I targeted low-risk players, with proven track records in April. Altuve. Arenado. Boegarts. Rizzo. These four players make up my infield, and all four were targets of mine in the draft. Consistent, relentless, champions.

I think finding the right balance between a player possessing competitive fire while keeping a level composure is important in baseball — and these are the players I will continue to target. It requires actually watching the games. Last week’s recommendation was Yandy Diaz, who is as consistent as anyone this season in MLB.

Who else fits the mold? Who is the next championship-caliber player you can add to your roster?

Seiya Suzuki, Chicago Cubs

76 Overall Rating in MLB The Show, with the “Walks” attribute.

I like to equate walks to composure and patience. So, I start there. Seiya Suzuki may fit the mold.

MLB The Show by Sony San Diego Studio.

Suzuki is no young-pup, coming over from Japan after many successful seasons. He shows excellent plate discipline and shows a balance of intensity with composure. Look at his viscous swing and the way he runs the bases, indicative on how he approaches the game with a healthy balance.

Suzuki may be more of a bench bat depending on your league depth and format, but I like his game as he is still finding his way in MLB.

Andres Munoz, Seattle Mariners

Rated 74 Overall in MLB The Show with “Cannon” and “Outlier I” abilities.

For pitchers, I look at strikeouts to walk ratios. Who is taking the ball and dotting up the strike zone with some success? Clay Holmes was running a 47 strikeout to 9 walks ratio recently — this is what we want. Who’s the next Holmes? Andres Munoz has an elite strikeout to walk ratio and is 17 percent rostered in Yahoo leagues. He’s a late inning reliever out in Seattle with wipeout, triple digit velocity. He may be the closer in waiting, but for now, he is a high leverage reliever to help your team’s ratios.
