Quarterbacking is Madden at its core.

A Jedi traverses the world as one with their ever-changing environment. Their energy flows with the fluidity of water, adapting to the world.

To flow with the energy of the universe is to be in a meditative state. This is what it means to be ‘in the zone;’ something I am calling: ‘Jedi Flow.’

The best athletes, and the best quarterbacks, negotiate with their world from moment to moment, without thought. This level of comfort is achieved through their study, repetitions, and their ability to find meditation. Jedi QB’s function on this cognitive plane without interruption.

Rodgers. Mahomes. Wilson. Jackson. These players improvise by negotiating with the schemes and coverages identified after the snap. Whereas rigidity leads to pressure, strain, or forcing the ball into coverage, their fluidity presents limitless options, new windows of opportunity and new possibilities that were not previously thought of pre-snap.

Brady. He is a player who relies on adapting tactics and the use of impeccable throws into the smallest of windows, taking whatever open-space is presented. This is the meaning of ‘being water.’ Brady sculpted his body & mind to be the player he is.

The best players in the world go with the flow instead of attempting to control it. For the best of eSports gamers and Madden players, this is no different. To be a quarterback in the game of Madden is to be a creator; this is one of the most creative positions in all of sports. The developers endow gamers with all of the abilities — it is on the players to understand how to use these abilities to achieve their own version of Jedi Flow.
