Two years after its initial beta test release, Undisputed boxing will be released for purchase on Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X on October 11, 2024. A WBC Digital Deluxe edition, featuring bonus fight packs and apparel, is set for release on October 08, 2024.

The boxing simulator is developed by Steel City Interactive, Ten24, and published by Deep Silver and Plaion games.

Undisputed’s development cycle has been atypical. What started as an independently developed game, quickly became a project that more so resembles a major studio production upon Undisputed’s publishing deal with Plaion inked in December 2022.

Undisputed features over 70 licensed fighters, including: Muhammed Ali, Canelo Alvarez, Terrance Crawford, Vasili Lomachenko and a full women’s division headlined by Katie Taylor, Clarissa Shields, and Sophie Alisch.

Undisputed Boxing PC Player Ranking Reset

The console release of Undisputed signals the end for PC early access, and with that, player rankings will be fully reset. Player level, which is distinct from rank, will not be reset. Undisputed’s official opening season will be Season Zero.

2024 Gameplay Updates

Undisputed boxing has seen a number of gameplay improvements in its four-plus years of development — most of which have been well documented. More specifically, Steel City Interactive has made significant changes to the gameplay in 2024. This includes updated motion-capture and punch animations, stamina balancing, and changes to fighter AI.

Per Steel City Interactive’s director of product authenticity, Will Kinsler, Undisputed has added new jab and cross punch animations to the game in September, 2024. The new animations are a bit more snappy than what was seen in the early access version of the game. A more realistic body check was also added.

Continuing, uppercut punch range was tuned down, and step-in punches were refined a bit more to be more explosive and tight. Uppercuts were a common punch used to throw ‘at-range’ in the early access version of the game because of their reach and the damage they can deal.

Undisputed Boxing Stamina and Health Update

According to Steel City Interactive’s CEO Ash Habib, stamina was tuned via a summer 2024 update. SCI reportedly updated the game to make the fights feel more dangerous, with power punchers tuned to output more powerful damage. Habib also notes that the game now features directional, or momentum-based damage. Step-back punches, another online spamming favorite, reportedly will deal less damage than a boxer’s punch that is backed with a strong step-forward.

Health regeneration was also tuned to account for — and properly track — long-term damage during the entirety of a fight. Conversely, SCI increased the short-term recovery of boxers to allow for rapid exchanges, throughout.

Per Habib via an official gameplay preview July 30th, 2024:

“The goal here is to ensure players and AI can have high pace high action rounds without them leading to an excessive number of knockdowns; but also to ensure that doing so repeatedly and successfully throughout a fight will take its toll in the long run.”

Undisputed boxing is developed by Steel City Interactive and Ten24. Undisputed is playable today on PC via early access, and the console release is October 11, 2024 for Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
