Dear Contributor,

In this month’s Development Report, you will notice that we didn’t include the typical bulleted list describing what we will focus on in the upcoming month. Instead, we will detail what we’ve been working on in both November and December. As a result, in January, you will not receive a December update. Instead, you will receive a year-in-review report detailing DreamTeam’s 2019 development. Over the last six weeks, DreamTeam has added a new game to the platform, released quite a few unified feature updates, started the development of two new features, released the updated Tokenomics report, and much more. Come with us as we discuss DreamTeam’s activity in November and December.

Game Features

In November, the Games Features team focused on scalability. As a result, many of the updates cover unified features. As the new unified features include all games, the updates may seem like a platform feature. However, as the features relate to the games themselves, the Game Features team will develop and release the updates.

Unified Player Profiles — All Games

As DreamTeam continues to add games, more and more users play multiple DreamTeam supported games. The new Player Profiles allow users to connect all of the DreamTeam games with a single profile. Having all games on a single profile is useful, not only from a navigation perspective but also in terms of building a profile that showcases who each user is as a gamer. And with the shift of becoming a more social platform, this is very important. The new Player Profiles contain four sections: Personality, Games, Achievements, and Activity. Let’s take a look at each one.

Personality

The personality section helps users showcase who they are as a gamer. It includes:

  • Some basic info about the user.
  • A quote — users can write something inspirational or funny.
  • Connect social platforms (Discord, Mixer, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube) — helps users get more subscribers and views.
  • Toxicity control — Other gamers can now rate and review users as a gamer. Hopefully, this will help control the rising level of toxicity in the gaming world.

Games

The games section allows users to connect the games they play. DreamTeam currently supports Apex Legends, CS:GO, Fortnite, LoL, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, an additional 30+ games can be added to the Player Profile, more on that later. Once users connect a game, they’ll be able to click on that game to view all of their stats and see their progress.

Achievements

The achievement section shows off users’ Challenge Badges. Challenge Badges are awarded by competing in and winning DreamTeam Challenges. As we’ve described challenges in quite a few of our previous reports, we won’t go into detail about them now. A summary can be found in the Call of Duty section below.

Activity

The activity section displays live and upcoming challenges, challenge results, and allows users to manage their cash rewards.

Unified Navigation

As DreamTeam is becoming a game agnostic platform, the navigation menu has been updated to include all games and features. We won’t go into detail how it works as it is quite simple; users can choose a game and then select any feature for that game. Having a unified navigation not only helps users understand what we have for each game but helps them quickly find the feature.

Challenge Optimization

In December, the Game Features team optimized the Challenge feature. The first thing the team has done is to run a special event for Apex Challenges. For the entire month of December, the event will test whether larger prize pools and more frequent Prime Challenges will have an impact on the conversion and retention rates of Prime members.

The team will also start redesigning the challenge page, specific challenge cards, instruction, and a few other UX and UI details. The new Challenge page design will likely be released in January.

Prime Upgrade

In December, the team will also release the new Prime Upgrade feature. This will allow users to upgrade from basic Prime memberships to Prime Gold memberships. The ability to upgrade will make the transition from Prime to Prime Gold much more convenient and should improve our metrics.

Platform Features

In November, the Platform Features team released the new unified Registration with the option to sign up via Discord. By allowing users to sign up via Discord, the registration process becomes faster and easier. This will not only increase registration rates but also give DreamTeam an additional channel to reach out to its users.

Along with signing up and signing in via Discord, DreamTeam Profiles now features Discord integration. This allows DreamTeam to send relevant notifications directly to their Discord messengers. This feature will result in a rise in our retention metrics and help users stay connected to their DreamTeam accounts, even when they are signed out.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

DreamTeam released its fifth platform game in November and added additional features in December. To save everyone time, we’ll just detail the new game as a whole. If you have never heard of the Call of Duty series, here is some basic info. CoD was one of the most anticipated games of 2019 and is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Modern Warfare is the sixteenth overall installment in the Call of Duty series.

CoD users can enjoy the same features as Apex Legend and Fortnite users. Lets quickly go over the basics of those features.

Stats

CoD Stats on DreamTeam consist of two sections: “overall stats” and “last week stats,” which are both broken down into two categories: “gaming experience” and “gaming skills.”

Quick Glance Stats

Users’ most essential stats are shown at the top of your CoD page. The “quick glance” stats include your rank, level, and DT Rating. The DT rating is a unique feature only found on DreamTeam. It shows a player’s complete skill level. Many factors are taken into account to calculate the DT Rating, including game experience, K/D, kills, many percentages, and much more.

Gaming Experience

The gaming experience section of the stats page displays the following gaming experience info:

  • Matches played
  • Winrate
  • Time played

Gaming Skills

The gaming skills section of the stats page displays the following gaming skills info:

  • K/D ratio
  • Score per minute/match
  • Total kills, deaths, assists
  • And much more

The “last week results” displays all of the same stats but for the previous week.

The Most Advanced LFG

The CoD LFG makes finding players even easier and faster. Here’s how:

Our LFG has the option to view posts based on when they were posted or by which players are currently online. The option to see the online players first is important because players use LFG to find someone to play with at that moment. Players no longer need to scroll through posts to find the players who are currently online or wait until an offline player replies to a message. Players can connect and start playing sooner. And as a bonus, we’ve also added a spam filter. Say goodbye to pointless posts forever.

Quick Skill Understanding

Each post displays two pieces of information related to a player’s skill: the DreamTeam Rating and CoD level. The DreamTeam Rating uses a complex algorithm to calculate a player’s overall skill based on stats and play experience. If you’re looking for a player and have a DT Rating of 8.5, you can quickly understand that it is probably a waste of time to reply to a post of a player who has a DT Rating of 0.6.

Filter System

Users can quickly filter LFG posts by “online on top,” platform, mic, game mode, and, most importantly, server region.

Sharing

Users can share that they are looking for players across Facebook groups and Twitter. Hopefully, users won’t need this as our LFG finds players pretty quickly. However, we like giving our users the option to promote us when we have the chance.

Prime LFG

CoD Prime Members are able to place their LFG post at the top of the list, remove post limitations, and have all of your info displayed in gold.

Daily Challenges

DreamTeam CoD Challenges are a way for users to compete and earn some cash by simply playing the game they love. There are two free 24-hour challenges and one Prime Challenge each day.

Cash and Badges

Users can receive cash prizes and unique CoD badges for their profile.

Leaderboards

The DreamTeam CoD Leaderboards display who’s the best and, well, who’s not. Users can follow their rise to the top of each leaderboard in real-time. DreamTeam CoD Leaderboards include:

  • DreamTeam Ratings
  • Average Win rate
  • K/D Ratio
  • And many more categories

The Leaderboards can be filtered by platform, period, and game mode.

In December, the Game Features team will also start the implementation of the Friends, Friends’ Leaderboards, and PayPal integration features. As these are new features, we will be sure to update you in future Development reports as their release dates near.

Game Analytics

In November and December, The Game Analytics team worked on launching several sales, events, and promos on the DreamTeam platform:

  • The Black Friday Sale
  • Apex Raffle
  • The Winter Challenge Event
  • The Xmas Sale
  • The US Magazine Promo

All of these sales, events, and promos are aimed at increasing several platform metrics. The only events to have concluded are the Black Friday sale and the Apex Raffle. As a result of those two events, DreamTeam saw a significant boost in acquisition, retention, and Prime conversion rates.

In addition to those sales, events, and promos, the Game Analytics team also ran a couple of pricing experiments across several geo tiers to optimize premium conversion rates, implemented DreamTeam’s first partner advertisement placement for the WESG championship, and launched a new desktop & mobile homepage for DreamTeam.gg

Throughout December, the Game Analytics team will be focused on the new platform currency and DreamTeam shop development. We will update you on this as its release date nears.

Overwolf

The Overwolf team has completed the development of the full scope, including comments and suggestions received from Overwolf reviewers. As a result, we have successfully submitted the application for the launch approval process. In short, the app is an Apex Legends companion app that PC players can use to assist them in getting a greater understanding of their skills and improving their game to increase their chance of winning.

DesignLab

In November and December, the Design Lab:

  • Conducted research of CoD player needs and preferences: created CoD player personas, defined stats on user profile preferences
  • Conducted usability testing of Challenges
  • Created illustrations of CoD Challenge badges
  • Created UX DreamTeam Shop design concept
  • Updated UI Challenges Concept design
  • Created a Stats comparison design concept
  • Create a Basic Friends functionality design concept
  • Created a Friends’ leaderboards design concept
  • Created UI CoD Challenges design
