Dear Contributor,

As you may or may not remember, DreamTeam has added a CMO and CPO to the DreamTeam family, and they’ve not disappointed. The new CMO and CPO hit the ground running. We’ve seen numbers increase that we’ve wanted to be increased and numbers decrease that we’ve wanted to be decreased. Although we aren’t able to give you specifics on those numbers, we can tell you what we’ve been up to in order to turn some things around. Come with us as we discuss the new additions to the platform, tweaked features, and A/B testing strategies that have put DreamTeam in the best position to date.

Game Features

In the last report, due to a large number of new features, we split the “Game Features” section into two parts: Apex Legends and CS:GO. Although there haven’t been as many features added, we will continue to separate this section by game. So, let’s jump right in.

Apex Legends

In May, we released a new Apex Legends feature, tweaked the DreamTeam rating, and updated Player Profiles and the registration process.

Stats Per Match

DreamTeam.gg now has dynamic stats per match. So now, not only can DreamTeam Apex Legends players use their profiles to see their stat progression over time, but they can also see their stat progression over a number of set matches. This is very important as checking your progress over a 7 or 14-day timespan can make it difficult to see small changes in your stats based on gameplay strategy changes, as those days could possibly include hundreds of matches. By checking stat progression over 20 or 50 matches, players can get a more accurate picture of how their gameplay strategy changes affect their stats.

DreamTeam Rating

The DreamTeam Rating, a rating that combines a series of trackers in order to determine a Player’s overall skill, has had a slight tweak in its calculation logic. This allows players to more accurately judge a Player’s skill level as the combination of trackers used in the logic make it difficult for the DreamTeam rating to be boosted by random players.

Player Profiles

Along with Player Profiles now having the option to view stats by total stats, days, or matches, Player Profiles also have a “+ADD LEGEND” button. This button assists players in seeing more Legends on their profile as well as more stats per Legend. The EA API is quite complicated. Adding this button will help players understand not only why they see the stats they see but how to see more stats.

Registration Process

The Apex Legends DreamTeam.gg registration process is now easier and faster. Instead of having to join the overall DreamTeam.gg platform by creating an additional DreamTeam username, players can now simply join the Apex Legends section of the DreamTeam.gg platform. The reduced number of fields will result in a higher user registration conversion rate.

In June, the Game Features team will:

  • Release the “Legends” Section with general Legends dynamic stats
  • Release the Apex Legends landing page
  • Continue to improve Player Profiles
  • Add more stat trackers
  • Start the development of Challenges

CS:GO

In May, we released the DreamTeam Training Center and continued to work on some cool feature updates that will be released in June.

Training Center

One of the coolest and, as of now, most used features on the DreamTeam platform is the new Training Center. The DreamTeam Training Center is the quickest and easiest way for players to improve their CS:GO skills. Players can use it solo or with their team to improve skills on various map categories and game types. The Training Center can be used in just three simple steps:

First, players choose what they want to improve by selecting from the following categories:

  • Official: official maps used in competitive pools
  • Single Bombsite: small competitive single-bombsite maps
  • Aim: best maps for improving your aim
  • Personal: best maps for improving personal skills

Second, players choose the training format, match configurations, and whether or not they want to include bots.

Third, players start the free DreamTeam server and begin to improve.

Adding an amazing feature like the Training Center to DreamTeam.gg will help increase user retention, increase the number of daily users, and increase user acquisition. Basically, having another cool feature that users love will only continue to make DreamTeam the place for building teams and improving skills.

In June, the Game Features team will:

  • Add the ability for players to play 1v1 Practice Games
  • Add the ability for players without a team to use the Practice Games functionality to get more people involved in using the feature

Platform Features

In May, the Platform team worked with the Design Lab to create and release the new navigation top menu and Q-bar. The new navigation menu includes links to five pages each linking subpages:

  • Find: allowing users to find players, teams, or team vacancies
  • Practice: allowing users to choose between the Training Center or Practice Games
  • Analytics: allowing users to access the CS:GO Analytics tool
  • Coaching: allowing users to choose between Self-coaching or Team-coaching
  • Learn: allowing users to access the DreamTeam blog in order to stay up-to-date on everything CS:GO, LOL, and Apex Legends.

The new Q-bar now has the option to be reduced to an only-icon format or remain the full Q-bar allowing users can see each named platform section. This helps new users navigate the platform and allows everyday users, who have already memorized the icons, to maximize the platform viewing area.

In May, DreamTeam also prepared and released the Premium flow experiment. There are several Premium pop-up designs that are being tested in order to maximize our Premium conversion rate. As this is an ongoing test, we will include the final information and design when all of the tests are finalized.

As DreamTeam now has so many features and tools, we have decided to include a short user tutorial for first-time users. This is a simple 6-step click-through tutorial that shows the user the DreamTeam Journey, Notification Center, and walks the user through how to search for a team. This tutorial will help first-time users understand the basics of the platform and feel less overwhelmed.

In June, the Platform Features team will:

  • Develop and release the “Questline” feature experiment
  • Continue with new Premium conversion experiments

Architecture and Infrastructure

Although the work that the Architecture and Infrastructure team does is important, it doesn’t really make for a good read. To save time, we will simply list what the team has been up to.

In May, the Architecture and Infrastructure team:

  • Continue working on the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process
  • Supported Apex scaling and PAD tech design, technically released to production under feature toggle
  • Supported retention and conversion projects
  • Produced A/B and multi-variant tests technical solutions
  • Implemented and launched first testing experiments

In June, the Architecture and Infrastructure team will:

  • Complete tech design for challenges and other features planned for July and August
  • Provide SDLC in detail
  • Focus on experiment A/B testing solutions
  • Develop Apex Legends leaderboards scaling strategies
  • Research and complete PoC regarding adding another game title
  • Focus on furthering the support of services to teams (from devops and leads) including 24x7, monitoring, alerting, etc.

Game Analytics

In May, the Game Analytics team worked closely with the Design Lab to create a series of Main Page designs which are currently being A/B tested. Two of the new Main Page designs include a short video covering the features of the DreamTeam platform. Furthermore, two pages are centered around the DreamTeam Journey as reports have shown that users who interact with the DreamTeam Journey also use other platform features more often.

In addition to the Main Page test designs and the Analytics update, the Player Analytics Dashboard (PAD) 2.0 grenades development was started and Analytics 2.1 was released.

In June, the Game Analytics team will:

  • Soft launch Grenades MVP for users in Poland
  • In-experience messaging pop-up mechanism should be created
  • Prepare the scope for the addition of another game title

Modules

The Modules team has completed the PAD Main and Shooting development. As mentioned in the last report, the Player Analytics Dashboard is a module that will pull, store, and organize Player statistics from the DreamTeam Analytics Tool. The PAD will allow teams to keep track of their progression over time and get a better understanding of where they were, where they currently are, and what they need to continue to work on in order to advance their skills.

The new Player Analytics Dashboard contains:

  • Stats
  • Progress Tracker
  • Distance Accuracy
  • Hitbox Stats
  • Shooting Style Efficiency
  • Best Weapons
  • And Much More

The Modules team has also started the development of the Self-coaching module. We can’t release much information on it now. However, we can say that the Self-coaching module will contain groups of tasks that will help push players’ skills to the next level.

In June, the Modules team will:

  • Launch PAD: Main and Shooting
  • Finish the development of the Self-coaching simplified module
  • Prepare the scope for automated Self-coaching

Data Analytics

In May, the Data Analytics team:

  • Prepared the framework for A/B testing
  • Prepared the user engagement model
  • Delivered dashboards for A/B testing and user engagement results
  • Successfully created the initial RFM predictive churn model using Power BI. The model refreshes daily and highlights various segments of users at risk of churn. The next step is to begin testing CRM strategies against each segment in June with the goal of reducing user churn.

In June, the Data Analytics team will:

  • Create an Apex A/B testing model
  • Create RFM report (predictive churn model)

Design Lab

Although the Design Lab team isn’t a new team, it is new to the DreamTeam Development Report. So join us as we welcome the Design Lab team. Welcome. Now, let’s get down to business and cover what they have been up to.

As mentioned at the beginning of the report, the new CMO and CPO have made many changes. One of those changes being design changes of certain platform aspects for testing. The Design Lab has redesigned the registration pop-ups for A/B tests, created redesigned versions of our Main Page for 1–2–3–4 tests, and redesigned Premium pop-ups for A/B testing. In addition to the redesigns for the A/B tests, the Design Lab has also designed the landing pages for Apex Legends, the DreamTeam Training Center, and redesigned the top navigation game switcher.

A list of UX designs were created for:

  • Questline Staffing Flow
  • Premium Purchase Flow
  • Self-coaching Bundles (in addition to UI)
  • Apex Legends Player’s Dynamic Stats (in addition to UI)

Blockchain and Payments

The Blockchain and Payments team has been working on DREAM token integration and have outlined a plan for the initial DREAM Token integration onto the DT platform. The goal is to create a flexible token infrastructure that can be leveraged by multiple DreamTeam features, can enhance user retention, and will help create long term value for the token. The initial integration (PoC) is starting in June.

The team also published an article about our open-source Trickle (PoC) project that aimed to get the feedback from the existing crypto community. DreamTeam has received a lot of positive comments and emails regarding the idea of fixed hourly rate smart contract service and it sounds like people are ready to use it. However, the key point is still in the crypto adoption: employers (senders) have to agree to pay in crypto. Aside from people needed to be accustomed to crypto, every other aspect of using Trickle for fixed hourly rate agreements is better than using wire transfers.
